About AGREM

Chester County Map

We are an emergency management organization located in Chester County,Pennsylvania, providing supportĀ to the boroughs of Avondale and West Grove, and the Franklin, London Britain, New London, and Penn Townships.

We were originally established in 1999 as the The Avon Grove Regional Emergency Management Task Force. We formed as a working group designated to help plan for, and respond to, any emergencies that caused by computerized systems triggered by the calendar year changing from 1999 to the year 2000.

AGREM changed from being a task force to operating more as a regular working group after the year 2000. Our focus shifted beyond potential Y2K impacts toward needs based on subsequent events and needs.. This includes Hurricane's Katrina and Sandy, and other significant weather events that impacted the East Coast, together with human-caused events such as the terrorist attacks on the NY World Trade Center and Pentagon, the Kansas City Federal Building bombing, the accidental BP Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico, and the mass shootings at Columbine, Sandy Hook, and many others across our country have highlighted the importance of ongoing emergency preparedness planning, and activities around mitigation, response, and recovery.

Today, AGREM continues its mission as a recognized Federal and Pennsylvania non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. We pursue local, County, State, and Federal grants and accept tax-deductible donations to help support our programs and related efforts.
